Microsoft Releasing windows 7 beta download

Microsoft Showing Heaven? in Windows 7- Are you interested

Microsoft seems playing a new game by keep on releasing new series of Windows operating systems. I would like to call this game as Window opening game! Microsoft only knows what makes it to bring new operating system that too within a gap of its earlier release, windows vista. Of course, the company facing a great competition from its rivals such as Linux, I too agree with that. But, I am wondering still why Microsoft cannot define its own standards and wait for sometime to settle down windows vista properly, before going ahead with new operating system. By releasing windows 7 beta download, the new series of Windows operating system, Microsoft handed bitterness in a good cup of coffee among the users of windows vista.

Product consistency

May be Microsoft itself indulged in policy of introducing new technologies at its best. We are not against the release of new technologies to the world, especially in the field of computer science. Microsoft may argue that, Windows Vista has crossed a million copies. Alright, but, what is more important here is product consistency. Microsoft products are less consistent, such a way that, it changes and keeps on releasing newer versions for no use.

Release service packs

If this tradition is continued by Microsoft, people will loose faith and stop purchasing the products because of very huge confusion in mind sets. Microsoft may be doing it for the sake of profits, but, being an honest fan of Microsoft, I would like to see Microsoft stop releasing new operating systems in future, say 5 to 10 years. Instead, they can release service packs for existing operating system which can contain almost all features of new planed operating system itself.

Making good revenue out of development and deployment

But, as far as business is concerned, Microsoft has kept a right step. It is not the question of only giving number of new features, but, it’s a question of making good revenue out of development and deployment. The company has put all its resources such as manpower, machines, and all important thing, the big brains into work, to gain such beautiful feathers, which I mean features.

Silver updates

Today, IT industry is suffering from a new kind of fever, which can be cured, if treated now, because it’s in initial stages. What the IT industry must do now is, they must hang on some old products, and develop updates for those existing old products rather than developing entire new product. By giving a product upgrade that looks good, the customers will feel that they get stability for the product they have purchased. Of course, Microsoft can charge some minimal rate for the new updates, and call them by a name “Silver updates”.

Genuine Advantage tools

In short, Microsoft should learn to respect the customer values, and improve relationship between them and the customers. Microsoft has done well by introducing Genuine Advantage tools in a move to fight against software piracy. But, what I feel is, rather than introducing such tools, they should charge for their products in local currencies only, not in foreign exchange rates in order to stop software piracy, at least to the home users. Let me, give one simple example here. Windows Vista Ultimate will cost around 1000$. If it is sold in India, then the amount will be Rs. 50,000/- due to foreign exchange rate applied. Of course, corporate users will buy by paying such a huge amount. But, it is very difficult for a home user to go with such high rates. So, Microsoft should revise the prices if they have get hold of Indian market. If done practically no one will go for pirated software according to my belief.

Will Windows 7 introduce new such schemes to its customers? Or is it just another product, which shows heaven (?) to all other windows that are still in use including Windows Vista? (Forcing the vista users to buy Windows 7!) Let us wait and see and let us hope for the best, not at least, damn worst.
