Windows Vista beta 5219 serial
Microsoft released vista beta 5219 serial before the
release of major version Beta 2. This was released after
six weeks upon the release of the beta 1 of Windows
Vista which was code named as Longhorn.
The operating system code named “Longhorn”
was released as beta 1 by the Microsoft in mid of the
2005. The Longhorn was termed as next generation operating
system by the company. The 5219 build of Longhorn was
termed as Community Technical Preview (CTP). This build
contained a major upgrade for Internet Explorer. The
Internet Explorer 7 was introduced. This brought substantial
changes in the Internet browsing.
What is new?
The Internet Explorer 7 had new security settings.
Tabbed browsing, which was a feature in Mozilla browser,
was introduced here too. In an official statement Microsoft
stated that what vista’s future builds include.
It was said that a side bar which comprised of clock,
calendar etc. was existed in Windows Vista alpha versions,
but had disappeared in the beta 1, will be back in future
releases.
Microsoft, when this 5219 build was released, had stated
that, beta 2 of windows Vista will contain new Windows
Media Player 11 Series. This build still contained Windows
Media Player 10 Series. It was the first build, which
contained options which enable user to view 3D window
views, thumb nail views for desktop applications, Semi
transparent task bars.
New improved features
The security feature in Windows Vista was upgraded,
which encrypts the entire hard disk drive. Copy and
paste options had problems in Beta 1. The problem with
copy and paste was dragging and dropping. There were
crashes in some of the programs as well as in the modules.
The task switching was also improved dramatically compare
to Windows Vista Beta 1. The Help was released incomplete
and is occasionally found useful.
3D Aero option with new games
The 3D aero option was introduced with this build.
This build 5219 gets some extra games added to it. The
games are, Chess, Purble Place, Shanghai. The chess
has got 3D effects and can be played player vs computer
mode or player vs player modes. Purble Place is a game
meant for young children. It helps one to understand
shapes, colors, and patterns. The other game is Shanghai
is a favorite game, was called as shanghai solitaire,
which was available with some other game packages such
as Windows Entertainment Pack.
The old games are given a face lift, by giving them
good colors, images, etc. The game Minesweeper looks
better. In Windows Vista, regarding security, the User
Account Protection is enabled by default, thus increasing
security for the system.
In Build 5219, the vista introduced a new feature,
called Super Fetch, which examines system over time,
determines which programs one uses mostly, and pre-loads
codes from these programs, for achieving faster run
time. However, this requires higher amount of memory
i.e. RAM. This build did not offer any improvements
for device drivers from Beta 1. |
