Novell and Microsoft partnership, Impact over Vista?
Recently, Novell and Microsoft entered into a partnership.
It addresses the critical needs of both companies and
customers who use products from them. Microsoft today
has transformed into a vast corporate sector company.
Coming to the vista point, Microsoft has introduced
many rich features, which others have not. Improvements
in the development of Windows Vista will be reflected
in the above said Novell-Microsoft partnership, which
makes Vista more compatible with Linux and will work
more flexible than earlier versions. But, it is said,
the changes, benefits will be available through the
updates, after original vista ships out of Microsoft.
Windows Vista, a product resulted out of request from
corporate sectors, will be more secure, easier to manage,
and less disruptive than its earlier versions. It also
seen changes in user authentication, data encryption
and also in trusted links to remote resources. If this
is, properly addressed and implemented, vista can be
more secured than its predecessors and could give a
handle to the corporate and government organizations,
to take good security measures.
One should look into desktop problems and exposures
with which one is struggling, to assess whether vista
will help to do better. Many will say that, it is not
successful in carrying out these responsibilities, but,
still many of users will find these offerings, critical.
In all, Windows Vista is a bridge for a changing Microsoft.
While, the company needs to balance the needs of the
customers and different corporate sector audiences,
the company needs to respond to the threats from competitors
and governments. Along with it, Microsoft should see
that the company is positioned to take up challenges
of future. It is a clear indication that the windows
keeps changing, for which one needs to adjust themselves.
Windows Vista directly or indirectly, provides platform
for development of next generation higher operating
systems. Vista will be first made available among the
business customers in US during November end of 2006.
All other customers will get their copy of Vista, during
early 2007. Apart from security and other features discussed
here, there are some more additional features too. Some
of the exciting features that, the operating system
has are, 3D Aero GUI, 3D effects to games, additional
new games, more secured Internet Explorer 7.0, Windows
Media Player 11, parental control which restrict access
to children, and many more. Internet Explorer 7.0 and
Windows Media Player 11 can be upgraded, if the system
runs Genuine Windows XP with Service Pack 2 installed.
Before, installing these two softwares, the installers
of Internet Explorer 7.0 and Windows Media Player 11
checks to verify that the installed windows is genuine.
Microsoft has entered into final show down with Windows
Vista, particularly with the ability to check the software
for its genuineness, a stronger security measure for
securing their rights of genuineness. The existing users
may switch over to other free operating systems like
LINUX. So, we can expect more competition among these
two, especially this time around. Time will decide who
will emerge as a clear winner. Novell Update - The Novell Client for Vista is now available. Check http://www.novell.com/beta/auth/beta.jsp?id=2306&type=1
