Innovative Features in Windows 8
After the mass success of Windows 7, Microsoft is
getting ready to release its brand new successor. Though,
Microsoft is yet to open its tight lips, many sources
suggest that the Name of new Operating system will be
Windows 8 and it will be released before 2013. Though
Microsoft has not officially declared that their next
Operating system is Windows 8, some of the details have
been leaked on internet in the form of slideshow, from
its Windows development center. Based on these leaks,
some of experts have discussed some the innovative features
of Windows 8.
Compatible with Tablet PC
Tablet PC's with Windows 7 had multiple problems,
like battery back-up problem, Touch screen problem and
lots more. We can find some solution for all these problems
in Windows 8. Totally, Windows 8 is expected to provide
Tablet users a complete and comfortable Windows Experience.
Windows 8 is expected to feature a touch-based login
system in Tablet PC. Users need to input handwriting
characters as password, rather than keyboard password.
App store in Windows 8
Though Microsoft has already attempted online software
store with the Windows Marketplace, Microsoft Windows
8 is expected to come with Windows store and App store
that will allow user to purchase Windows Applications
and Add-ons online. Actually this feature was already
released with Apple's Mac OS X.
Facial recognition for Login
With the expectation of handwriting method of Login
for touch screen PC's (Tablet PC's), Windows
8 will also have facial recognition capabilities. This
capability employs computer to login by testing the
presence of the user, so that a correct actual user
can login into the computer system without touching
keyboard or mouse, rather than allowing someone to login
in his place.
Operating System itself on External Drive
Windows 8 is planning to facilitate user to load the
Operating system in the external hard disk and use on
any computer or use within the network. This means user
can load Windows 8 on their 16 GB external hard disk
(includes USB drive) and can use it on any computer
without installing to the computer. If this feature
becomes realistic in Windows 8, then I think many will
be benefited. The only question here is, how Windows
manages Genuine Advantage Tool, if the computer has
already installed pirated version of OS being pre-loaded
and the external hard disk contains original version.
Ribbon in Windows Explorer toolbar
Those who already used Office 2007, they all are aware
of Ribbon interface, a ribbon is an interface, where
a set of toolbars are placed on tabs in a tab bar. After
Office 2007, many software products have come up with
this feature. Actually this feature got mixed reactions.
However, as a creator of Ribbon interface, Microsoft
is planning to include this feature in Windows Explorer toolbar.
The new Task Manager application
U.S. technology blog site WinRumors found that, Windows
8 may be equipped with a new task manager, it will be
able to help users easily determine which of the programs
or processes have been occupied the memory and processor.
This will help users to determine shoot down the busy
program and extend network and the battery life.
Microsoft has not yet official declared mentioned features,
so it is not fair to judge all these features. So, let
us wait until the release of Windows 8 in 2012 or till
